I go to a HomeGoods near me to find unique things for my home. I love their home accents, wall decor, storage cubes and kitchen essentials. Every time I go to the store there is something new and I land up spending a lot of money there.
I always relied on smaller online stores or giants like Petsmart, Petco, Amazon etc. for dog supplies and never paid much attention to the HomeGoods Pets section. However, I walked in here this week and found all these cool dog products.
I’m pretty sure that Leo thinks that it’s his birthday – he is being super pampered.
Check out some of the things I found for Leo. I’m not sure if they are suitable for all dog breeds but these are good for medium to large sized dogs for sure. The prices are also bound to differ from location to location and availability.
Anyway.. here goes..
15 Cool Pet Products I Found at HomeGoods
1. TOMMY HILFIGER DOG BED
A brand new, super comfortable Hilfiger bed for just $39.99? Hell yeah! I’ll take it. This bed looks classy and won’t ruin the look of your house. It’s very soft and perfect for a medium to large size dog.
HomeGoods actually has a wide range of dog beds in various sizes, shapes and brands. Definitely worth checking them out before going for a regular one from a pet store.
2. VITTLE VAULT PET FOOD CONTAINER
This is a quality airtight container (therefore the term ‘vault’) which is perfect for storing dry dog food. It is a little space consuming but if your dog needs a lot of food, this should fit your monthly stock. I think the store just carried this one size but I know that there are smaller and bigger ones available online.
If you need something cuter and smaller, then you should get this next one.
AIR-TIGHT PLASTIC PET FOOD CONTAINER
Leo is a large dog and needs more food so I did not buy this for him, although I love it! It also comes with a measuring cup and has different illustrations on it like a Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Doberman etc. You can choose your favorite. I don’t remember the brand of the product but it is too cute to miss.
3. WEBSTER MEDIUM PET JAR
This clear jar with an airtight lid is perfect for storing dog treats and keeping a check on how many are left.
It looks good and let’s face it.. all we dog owners ever do is feed the dog, pet the dog and give the dog a treat. 🙂
The next one is a more colorful treat can – I couldn’t stop myself from getting this one either. It has a solid, super-tight lid to keep treats and cookies fresh.
PAW PRINTS TREAT TIN
HomeGoods had many more treat cans, tins and jars but these two were my favorites.
4. P.B. PAWS & CO. PET MAT
They had a selection of indoor and outdoor pet mats in different colors and prints. The mats stay in place, are washable and soak up any liquids so they are great to place water bowls on and that’s why these mats are a dog owner’s delight.
5. OUTWARD HOUND PAW FLAPPER
Your dog wants treats and you want him to have fun, get his exercise and be engaged. With this treat dispenser game, both of you are happy.
You can fill the treat chambers with kibble or small treat bits and your pooch has all the fun finding them in the hidden corners. These keep them engaged for long so you can go about your daily routine. This is easily my current favorite toy. Great find!
6. CO-PILOT PET TRAVEL CAR SEAT COVER
Keeping your expensive car clean is a top priority for owners but you still want to take your dog to beaches, parks etc.. That’s why this product is a savior – it keeps your car seats clean and nice. It fits my car perfectly, is easy to use and is washable too.. perfect!
However, this product is not a hammock and is more like a mat you put over the seat so it would be useful only if your pet is calm during car rides. There is a chance that the cover will move around if your pet is very restless and your seat will land up getting dirty anyways.
7. MODERN KANINE POOP BAGS
Poop bags are often the last thing on our minds but it is very important to have them around at all times.
This set comes with two dispensers and 400 bags so you don’t have to worry about buying them for the next 6 months. They come in many funky colors and are also lightly scented.
8. AVALANCHE SAFETY RETRACTABLE LEASH
Vehicles can find it harder to see your dog at night when there is no light around, especially if you have a darker or smaller dog.
The LED light on this leash helps avoid accidents like these. The product has a good grip and a sturdy hook for added safety. Definitely something I wasn’t looking for but super helpful once I found it.
9. ZIPPYPAWS CLIMBERS DOG LEASH
This 6 ft. leash looks super durable because it is made from mountain climbing rope and is perfect for outdoor hikes or regular walks too. The hook also looks really strong and sturdy. They had this product in many colors like red, black, blue etc.
I got this one for outdoor action.
10. ALL FOR PAWS OUTDOOR DOG BALLISTIC HANDLE BALL
This is a durable ball with a squeaker inside it. Can you ask for more?
It’s great for fetch and catch games and keeps your dog engaged outdoors. This product was available in green and orange colors so you get to choose.
If your pup likes balls, here’s a cooler one I found at HomeGoods. I think I like it more than the first one.
SPOT EZ-CATCH FROM ETHICAL PRODUCTS
This product is super durable (which is good if you have a crazy giant dog like Leo) and it is shaped like a basketball with a handle – how awesome is that? This again is great for playing fetch or catch with your dog. Leo loves it!
11. TRIUMPH DOG TREATS
If there is something Leo loves as much as meat, it is peanut butter.
These treats are oven baked so that makes me happy too. I don’t feel guilty giving him too many of them. No points for guessing that Leo loves them too. You can break these treats into 2 pieces, give them to your pup as a whole or even stuff them into Kong balls like I do.
Leo always needs treats because I’m continuously training him. So I also picked up these.
THREE DOG BAKERY DOG TREATS
This is again an all natural, grain-free baked treat and I love it. Leo loves sweet potatoes so I’m sure he loves them too. They are easy to break and can be given in smaller chunks or stuffed in toys.
12. ANIMAL PLANET COOL MAT
I think the product was originally meant for dogs with joint pains or obesity but if you live in a warmer region like California or Florida, these mats help keep your pup cooler during those hot summer days.
Leo feels very warm after a long afternoon walk so this product helps. Also, Animal Planet is a brand I know and trust so I was comfortable and happy with this purchase.
13. VITTLES VAULT PET FOOD TRAVEL-TAINER KIT
Pet Food goes stale if you just carry it around in plastic bags for hikes and picnics. This product prevents that from happening. It is also super compact and easy to carry with a sturdy handle and separate bowls for food and water. Another great find!
14. TM DESIGNS PET STORAGE
Leo’s toys used to all lie around the house or inside a boring plastic container that I once bought. These storage baskets look really cool, come in different colors and patterns and don’t look tacky in your living room.
I’m also training Leo to clear the room of his toys and place them into this basket – hope he learns that soon. One less thing for me to do. Yay! 🙂
Price: $4.99 – $7.99 depending on the size of storage
The store had other brands of pet storage in different prints, materials and sizes. I was confused with so many options & landed up getting the teal print ones in the image above. They look nice!
15. WALL MOUNTED BOARD
Not only is this wall unit beautiful crafted in wood but it is also a great utility item. I hang Leo’s leash, harness and our keys on this. It’s a great addition to my house interiors. It is made in India with high quality wood and craftsmanship so looks great.
HomeGoods also had a lot of wall decor items, photo frames, mugs etc. which are perfect gifts for dog owners.
